COW COOLING SYSTEM

Heat stress can take a toll on diary cows, impacting their health, productivity, and overall well-being. Spraying Systems Co.® designed an effective AutoJet® Cow Cooling System specifically to provide effective heat relief, ensuring the cows remain comfortable, even during the hottest months.

WHY COOLING MATTERS

Dairy cows are highly sensitive to heat, with their ideal environmental temperature ranging between 4 and 16 degrees Celsius. Both temperature and humidity levels play a significant role in determining the extent of heat stress a dairy cow experiences.

High temperatures can lead to:

  • Milk fat depression
  • Reduced fertility
  • Increased health issues like dehydration, heat stroke, lowered immune system...
  • General discomfort and stress, leading to lower overall performance
  • Transition disease

HOW OUR SYSTEM WORKS

Our precise cow cooling system creates an optimal environment for your dairy cows by soaking the skin and spraying large, low pressure droplets of water onto their back to prevent them from overheating. The cooling can take place on different locations on the farm, depending on the needs of the farmer.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Low mounted nozzles are placed within reach of the cows, provide immediate soaking and are equipped with regular hex screw caps.
  • High mounted nozzles are out of reach of the cows, provide less immediate soaking and are equipped with Quick-Caps for easy maintenance.
  • Nozzles are placed every 6-8 feet or 1.8-2.5 meters in the pipe for optimal coverage.
  • Nozzles stop spraying after wetting the back of the cow to allow the water to evaporate prior to another cycle starting.
  • Check-valves keep the line full in between cycles.

BENEFITS

  • Fully automated

  • Flexible and adjustable

  • Increase milk production

  • Easy nozzle maintenance

  • Water saving

  • Increase dry matter intake

  • Enhanced cow comfort

  • Reduce veterinarian costs

UNIJET® NOZZLES

Our advanced UniJet® nozzles are precisely engineered to efficiently wet the cow's back using a 180° spray pattern of large, low-pressure water droplets. This hollow cone nozzles uses a whirlchamber to rotate the fluid and produce a circular spray pattern.

The TN version of this nozzle delivers an ultra-fine atomized spray using only liquid pressure, eliminating the need for compressed air. Additionally, the quick-connect nozzles stay attached to the pipe during maintenance, reducing downtime and making the process more efficient.
